December 2016, my Nan was admitted to hospital. While she was struggling in the ICU, my eldest niece was making her arriving to the world at the same hospital. Miraculously, my Nan got better enough to be moved from the ICU to the ward. Even more miraculously, they allowed my older sister to come visit with her newborn baby. I was with her on that visit. In the room was my Nan, Mum, older sister and niece. I had a camera in hand and foolishly did not take a picture of this moment. Four generations of beautiful women and a priceless moment in time - gone. We all thought my Nan was getting better. There was even talk about bringing her home soon. However, a few days later, she passed away. I am grateful that I was able to be apart of that moment, but it still frustrates me to this day that I neglected to take a picture.
Do not delay taking pictures of your love ones!
