24 Wordsworth Rd

How did we end up living at 24 Wordsworth Road?

My Mum grew up living on Wordsworth Road. Once married, and after having a couple children, my Mum and Dad were living with her parents on Wordsworth Road. The only way for placement within a council house was to have my Nan evict my parents. Once evicted, my parents went to live in a hostile to wait for a council house. They requested to stay close to where my Mum grew up on that side of the Britwell or in Cippenham. In 1985, they were offered 24 Wordsworth Road. A three bed, one bath, semi detached council house at the bottom of the Britwell.

This is where I grew up! It was a small house but full of wonderful and cherished memories.

I loved turning the corner during the Christmas season and seeing our tree lit up in the front window. It was pretty magical.

fun fact - we always took pictures standing next to our neighbors front garden. I'm not sure why but my guess would be because they took really good care of their garden and usually had really pretty roses growing. We didn't get along too well with our neighbors. We use to just refer to them as the moaners
